We believe we have the solution – Learner Driver Insurance. This is a standalone policy, in the name of the learner. It can run for periods of 1 to 24 weeks and will not impact on the car owner’s insurance in any way. The policy operates when the learner driver is under tuition and offers valuable protection to the vehicle owner. The same cover is available if the learner already owns their own vehicle.

As the old adage goes, “Practice makes Perfect” and practice is certainly something young drivers will want plenty of. 17 to 21-year-old learners will often have access to a car but the cost of insurance can be prohibitive. There may also be a reluctance on the part of the vehicle owner to add a new driver, who may have a negative impact on their no claims bonus.
